Chapter 11

Chapter 11 introduced a lot of technologies for those with hearing and visual impairment that I never really thought about. Some of the better pieces of technology that I read about were oral journals, and the document camera. The oral journals fascinated me because I thought it was an interesting way for those students with hearing impairment to record their thoughts and share their opinions. The document camera is another piece of technology that I think is great. This allows you to enlarge worksheets or any other type of work that you would like to share with the class. This could really help with those that have visual impairments so that they can see what the class is talking about a little better.

Chapter 6

After reading about the technologies in chapter 6 I found a few things that I would like to use in my classroom in the future. Scanners would work really well in the history classroom because if there are any historical documents that I would like to share with the class without risking passing it around and the document getting ripped or torn, I could just scan it on to the computer so that they can view it on the overhead. I would also love to have an electronic white board. These are very useful because they are more interactive than the plain white board. You can open powerpoint presentations and you can access the internet and all of this can be seen by the class. Another piece of technology that I feel is important in the classroom and for my future classroom would be the USB flashdrive. These are very helpful with saving your work. I feel that every one of my students should have one so that they can save their work and work between school and home.

The Best 2011 Super Bowl Ad

My favorite Super Bowl ad's this year were the Doritos ones. The best commercial during the Super Bowl was the commercial for doritos when the two co-workers are on break at work and the one guy has a bag of doritos and is about to get rid of the bag. The other guy is confused because he declares that the crumbs at the bottom of the bag is the "best part." The guy with the doritos is unphased by the comment and the other guy grabs his fingers and licks the cheese off of them. This commercial was my favorite because it made me laugh harder than any of the other commercials that night. My favorite commercial will always be the funniest and this one was by far the funniest one this year.
